Family-Friendly Service Event for AFAC

We are partnering with the Virginia Tech Club of DC to sponsor a competition to raise the most funds and donations for the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) during the month of November. Donate to AFAC online here to help us reach our goal of $5000. If we beat Virginia Tech, we’ll receive a $50 donation to our Club’s scholarship fund. Please donate before the November 30 deadline!
We will also have a box for physical donations at the November football gamewatches at Town Hall. During the 11/2 Pitt gamewatch, attendees will receive a raffle ticket for each food donation item they bring in. AFAC is most in need of the following low-sugar and low-sodium items: canned tuna, canned soup, canned vegetables, peanut butter (in plastic jars), and cereal.
New this year, the drive will end with a bang with a family-friendly event at AFAC’s warehouse to bag produce or bulk dry goods into individual portions for distribution to the 2,300+ client families who come to AFAC each week. Join us on Friday, November 30 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Children ages 5+ welcome (but please note for safety reasons children under 5 cannot attend and children 5-12 should be supervised by their parents). Space is limited – please commit to attending if you register for this event.
