All UVA alumni, parents, and friends are invited to join the UVA Club of Washington, DC for a Cavs Care event with Cultivate the City! Cultivate the City was created to inspire healthy and sustainable living by empowering communities with tools and training for urban agriculture. At the event, we’ll help maintain the three greenhouses and many plants on their unique rooftop growing area that utilizes DC’s unused space.
While you don’t have to be a green thumb or have any gardening experience, we do ask that you should only sign up if you are comfortable working outdoors in a variety of conditions including rain, sun and wind. Please dress in clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. If you find you cannot make it after signing up, please email us at uvaservice@dchoos.org at least one week in advance so we can add someone from the waitlist.
We hope you’ll join us as we give back to our local community and learn about urban architecture!
