DC Celebrates the UVA Bicentennial: Service Project

In the spirit of service and giving back to the community, the UVA Club of Washington, DC will also host a Bicentennial service event
on Sunday, October 8, 2017.
We will join community members in beautifying Stanton Elementary School in Southeast DC. We’ll need help with a variety of projects inside and outside the school grounds to contribute to a clean and welcoming environment for the students and community.
Projects include:
Classroom beautification
Painting
Playground and community clean up

Children age 12 and older are welcome to attend.

More details will be communicated in the weeks to come, but mark your calendars for a weekend filled with celebration, service, and thoughts of UVA!

Use #UVA200 or #UVABicentennialLaunchDC to share the excitement from the event with other UVA Clubs around the world. We encourage you to share photos, videos, and status updates from our celebration.

Getting there:
Parking available in the adjacent school lot.
Public transport is available via the 30S Bus from downtown and/or via Metro (Blue Line to Potomac Ave and #30S Bus or Green Line to Anacostia and the Potomac Ave/Skyland Circulator).
