Congratulations to Yaa Amoakohene, recipient of the 2020 UVA Club of Washington DC Scholarship for $1200. Yaa is one of two recipients for this year’s scholarship, chosen from over 170 applications. Here is a little bit more about Yaa:

“I am a Ghanaian-American incoming freshman at the University of Virginia’s College of Arts and Sciences. I plan to major in media studies with hopes of eventually finding a career in broadcast journalism. I also hope to continue striving for change within my community and strengthening my leadership skills at UVA.”
